The man convicted in the rape and murder of young Seya Sadewmi in Kotadeniyawa has been sentenced to death by the Negombo High Court.
Saman Jayalath, who confessed to committing the crime, was given the death sentence by the Negombo High Court yesterday.
The four-and-a-half-year-old child was taken from her home in Kotadeniyawa in September last year and was raped and later murdered. (Colombo Gazette)
