In view of the representations made and several media reports relating to the Law College Entrance Examinations 2012, the Council of Legal Education (CLE) said it has decided not to interfere with the results at this stage and proceed with the registrations as scheduled.

CLE is vested with the responsibility of the administration of the Sri Lanka Law College.

It said that at CLE’s request, the Department of Examination conducted the entrance exam for several years. The selection of examiners to set the paper, its translation and the marking of answer scripts are the responsibilities of the Department of Examination.

Upon conclusion of the marking of the answer scripts, the CLE decides the cut-off mark for the admission of students to the Law College. CLE said its decision not to interfere with the results at this stage was made in view of concerns expressed, discussions with Commissioner General of Examination, and after careful consideration of all relevant matters.
