The Colombo Chief Magistrate yesterday called on the Sri Jayewardenepura Hospital Director to submit a report on the surgery conducted on the skull of Government MP Duminda Silva.

The Chief Magistrate has directed the hospital director to submit a report on the sections of the skull that were removed during Silva’s surgical operation. Silva underwent a surgery to his head at the Sri Jayewardenepura Hospital on October 8th last year as a result of gunshot wounds received during a shootout that killed Presidential Advisor Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra.

Colombo Magistrate Prasanna de Alwis has given this order when Silva’s bodyguard had given evidence before court that Silva was operated at the Sri Jayewardenepura Hospital after the shooting and that a section of his skull was removed.

The ruling party MP severely injured in the incident is a suspect of Premachandra’s murder. He is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Singapore.
