A.Baur & Co. Ltd., has announced the appointment of Lakshman Niyangoda as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director from 1 January 2014.
Niyangoda has a BSc in Agriculture from the University of Peradeniya and joined Baurs in 1983. He was appointed to the Board of Directors in 1990 and Chief Operating Officer in 2007. Niyangoda is the 10th Managing Director of Baurs since the establishment of the company.
His predecessor Thomas Daetwyler will be appointed Chairman with effect from January 2014.
