Delimitations will be concluded by 31 Oct: LG min.

Provincial Councils and Local Government Minister Faiszer Musthapha has directed the Committee appointed to inquire into appeals on delimitations to conclude the process by 31 October. 

This was done after the committee made a request to the Minister asking for further time. Different political parties, civil society organisations and the public had directed nearly 2,000 appeals regarding issues in the delimitation report gazette in August last year.  Accordingly, Minister Musthapha appointed a committee representing all the political parties in Parliament. 

According to the committee, 90% of the process has been completed and handed over to the Department of Survey in order to demarcate the newly-delimited boundaries on the map.
