A B Mauri Lanka held a ceremony to welcome the Group Human Resources Director of its parent company Associated British Foods who was on a brief visit to Sri Lanka as a part of his Asian tour.
Associated British Foods is a food ingredient and retail group which is quoted on the London Stock Exchange and has 97,000 employees in 44 countries with sales of GBP 10.2 billion. “The success of the ABF Group is built on businesses like this throughout the world, Des Pullen, Group Human Resources Director, Associated British Foods Group said, speaking at the ceremony. The group recently launched its vision of being the world’s number one in bakery products.
A B Mauri Lanka commenced operations in 1996 and from a revenue of Rs.1.6 million has now grown to a Rs.3.5 billion business, Managing Director, A B Mauri S.B.M Padmasiri told the Daily FT. It markets bakery ingredients and accounts for 35% of the bakery ingredient market in Sri Lanka he said. Among the brands it markets are Pan, Prime, Olena and Harvest and it export markets include India, Pakistan, Myanmar and the Middle East.
