Development not limited to Colombo: UDA

The Urban Development Authority has pointed out that the Government’s development program is not only limited to Colombo. Senior Advisor of the Lands Management and Planning Division of the Authority Weerasena Adhikari said that the Urban Development Authority was constantly implementing the development programs countrywide establishing regional as well as district offices. Addressing a news conference in Colombo this week Adhikari mentioned that the Urban Development Authority has not limited development only to Colombo. They are also launching development programs covering every district. A regional office network is operated with the support of many professionals. District offices have been established in locations where special developments are taking place. He cited such places as Dambulla, Nuwara Eliya, Kataragama, Hambantota, Matara, Ampara, Kalmunai, Batticaloa, Polonnaruwa, Kegalla and Gampaha. He also said that Sub Offices are being maintained in the districts for the purpose of expediting the development work. Adhikari asserted that urban development is taking place in accordance with regulations of the Urban Development Authority.
