Deyata Sevana” Tree Planting Programme

The “Deyata Sevana” programme, under which eleven lakhs of trees are to be planted all over the country, will be launched on the15th of this month in connection with the 2nd swearing in of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

There is wide enthusiasm all over the country about this programme being launched by the President, and it is believed that the number of trees planted could even go up to 20 lakhs.  It is a record in the history of Sri Lanka and the trees will be planted all over the country at the same auspicious time which falls at 11 a.m. on the 15th.  The planting programme will be completed within 11 minutes.
