Dhanuna acquitted in Hicorp case

Colombo High Court Judge Devika de Livera Tennakoon yesterday ordered that Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka’s son-in-law Dhanuna Thilakaratne be acquitted in relation to the Hicorp case.

Fonseka and Thilakaratne were accused in this case and Fonseka was acquitted two years ago.

The case was lodged in relation to a tender fraud over a procurement deal between Hicorp and the Sri Lanka Army when Fonseka was Army Commander. The deal was done to supply military compasses, power generating machines, batteries and other equipment for the SL Army.
