Digital timetables for SLTB and private buses at bus stops

Private Transport Services Minister C.B. Ratnayake has decided to display joint digital timetables for both SLTB and private buses at bus stops. These timetables will operate round-the-clock at bus stops for the convenience of passengers who travel daily.

The Minister has also pledged to construct rest rooms for inter-provincial private buses and also to deploy ticket checkers to carry out random checks on all private buses,

These discussions had taken place at a meeting held recently among Minister Ratnayaka, Lanka Private Bus Owners Association (LPBOA) President Gamunu Wijeratne and Private Transport Ministry Secretary Victor Samaraweera.

According to Ministry sources initiating disciplinary action against errant drivers and conductors and setting up of rules and regulations for other transport services were some of other promises he has agreed to execute. (news.lk)
