Dr. Kalam concludes sri Lankan visit

Former Indian President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam who arrived in Sri Lanka on the night of 20 January to promote peace and goodwill left the country yesterday afternoon following his successful four-day visit. Minister of Industry and Commerce Rishad Bathiudeen was among the three Sri Lankan Ministers (others being Deputy Minister of External Affairs G.J.L. Neomal Perera and Minister of Technology and Research Tissa Vitarana) who bid farewell to Dr. Kalam at the airport. Dr. Kalam left Sri Lanka for India by Flight UL 151 (SriLankan Airbus 320) shortly after the closed door departure luncheon hosted in his honour at the BIA VVIP Lounge and attended by the three Ministers as well as MP A.H.M Azwar and Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Ashok K. Kantha
