Duminda declares his assets to Bribery Commission

MP Duminda Silva has handed over his assets and liabilities declaration to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption. Silva has told the media that he would submit a report on his assets and liabilities to Parliament as well. The Colombo Magistrate earlier ordered the Police to inspect all accounts held by Silva at several banks and financial institutions following a statement made by alleged narcotics kingpin Samantha Kumara alias Wele Suda that he had given money to the MP. Silva’s name was revealed by alleged drug king pin Samantha Kumara alias Wele Suda as a powerful politician who helped him carry out his drug racket in the country without any hindrance. Silva was appointed as the Monitoring MP of the Defense Ministry under the former regime. Wele Suda has revealed the names of over 30 persons allegedly involved in the drug racket in the country including the Colombo District Parliamentarian and a former Inspector General of Police.
