Easy access for public employees to buy Sathosa goods

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce will arrange facilities for public sector employees to buy consumer goods from the Cooperative Wholesale Establishment (CWE-Sathosa) at reasonable prices, said Minister Rishad Bathiudeen. 

Addressing an event at the Ratmalana Sathosa outlet, he said easy access would be implemented as soon as possible in the employees’ interest. He added the necessary food items required by the armed forces would be provided by the CWE in parallel. The Minister said that by 31 March this year, the CWE would make a remarkable profit due to the development plans implemented by the Ministry.  Bathiudeen further said by the end of this year the CWE branch network would increase to 500 from 310 and noted that each and every outlet would be computerised to offer a better customer service.
