Government coalition ally the Eelam People’s Democratic Party (EPDP) has decided to suspend Northern Provincial Council Opposition Leader Kandasamy Kamalendran from its ranks.
The decision was taken after top officials of the party held discussions yesterday.
Kamalendran was arrested by the CID this week as the main suspect in the murder of Delft Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Daniel Rexian Rajiv after investigations revealed the NPC Opposition Leader and the victim’s wife were engaged in liaisons.
