FCID records statement from Central Province Chief Minister

The Financial Crime Investigation Division (FCID) of police has recorded a statement from Chief Minister of the Central Province Sarath Ekanayake Monday (22).

Police Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekara said the statement was recorded over a financial irregularity at the Department of Co-operative Development which had  occurred in 2011.

Police Spokesman said Ekanayake was questioned for several hours to ascertain the exact amount of the financial irregularity.
