Final phase of Kotmale Mahaweli Maha Seya construction under Minister Navin’s supervision

2Kotmale Mahaweli Maha Seya, which was inaugurated by late Minister Gamini Dissanayaka is under its final phase of construction. It is scheduled to be open for the public homage within the first quarter of the year 2016. 

Kotmale Mahaweli Maha Seya, which will second only to the Ruwanweli Maha Seya in Anuradhapura will be the largest Buddhist cultural icon built in recent history of the country. 

Minister of Plantation Industries Navin Dissanayake, who is also the Chairman of the Mahaweli Cultural Foundation engaged in a visit to Kotmale Mahaweli Maha Seya to observe the progress of the construction works and advised the officers to complete the remaining construction activities soon while maintaining the standards. 

The Minister further expressed that he always receives the blessings of the President and Prime Minister to complete the construction work.
