Financial assistance from China for National Library

The Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Yi Xianliang donated Rs. 2 million to the Sri Lanka National Library for digitalisation of its Information Communication Technology training program when Ambassador Yi met with Sri Lanka National Library Board Chairman Abeysinghe on 23 October. 

Ambassador Yi said China stands ready to further strengthen exchange and cooperation with Sri Lanka in the fields of culture and education including library capacity building. China will support the development of Sri Lanka National Library with its capacity.

Abeysinghe appreciated the long-time support from China to the Sri Lanka National Library and other cultural institutions.
