Five top students of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) have been awarded subject prizes at this year’s CA Sri Lanka Strategic Level examination.
A.P.K. Gunawardhana was awarded the prize for the Strategic Management Accounting subject, while L.M. Batuwutage was awarded the prize for the Financial Reporting Framework subject in the strategic level of the Institute’s globally renowned chartered accounting course.
The Strategic Management Process subject prize was won by A.H.F. Hajara, while the Advanced Taxation & Strategic Tax Planning subject prize was won by K.K.W.R. Perera and M.A.F. Ameena was adjudged the prize winner in the Commercial Law and Corporate Law subject.
The globally-renowned CA Sri Lanka chartered accounting course is among the most sought after professional courses offered in the country. The institute is also one of the largest tertiary education providers in the country outside the university system with a student base of over 37,000 students who are aspiring to be chartered accountants.
Congratulating the students on their achievement, President of CA Sri Lanka Sujeewa Rajapakse said that these students had demonstrated that with the right amount of commitment and hard work, anything is possible.
“Some students fear the chartered accounting course, because the general assumption is that this is a very tough and strenuous professional program. What students need to understand is that nothing good can be attained easily, you need to put in a lot of hard work and dedication to be successful, and the chartered accounting course provides you with the firm footing required to be successful in today’s very competitive world,” Rajapakse said.
