More than 328,913 people are affected in 15 districts due to severe weather conditions, with floods and landslides in many parts of the island. The inclement weather is predicted to continue.

Muslim Aid Sri Lanka (MASL) has taken immediate action to assist those in need of assistance and is already on the ground taking measures to initially distribute 1,000 packs of dry rations, 400 packs of non-food items (mats, bed sheets, new clothes, towels), and purified water in the Batticaloa District.

Muslim Aid is collecting dry rations, new clothes and cash to extend its assistance further and is appealing to the kind generosity of people to help the flood victims. Donations can be handed over to the Muslim Aid Sri Lanka office at 9/2, Cooray Place, Edirigoda Road, Nugegoda (telephone: 011-2851024/0773095787). Cash/cheques should be in favour of Muslim Aid Sri Lanka Field Office, Amana Bank, Main Branch – Colombo: Account no. 0100007725003.
