Chinmaya Organisation for Rural Development (CORD Sri Lanka), a non-profit, non- governmental organisation, will hold a fund raiser show on 29 May at the Kathiresan Hall (Bambalapitiya) from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., featuring renowned flutist and performer Himanshu Nanda from India.  Others billed to perform are Sri Lankan artistes from the Chithrasena-Vajira Dance Foundation and Thivya Sivanesan.

CORD Sri Lanka mainly operates in the north and east of the country, predominantly in regions that were affected by the war. Their mission is to harness human resources and enable the poor to transform their lives through self-driven programs by providing socioeconomic support, particularly to war widows, orphans, single-parents and children who were severely affected and displaced by the war.

All proceeds and funds raised from this event will go to support and empower women widowed and marginalised by the three-decade war that prevailed in the island.
