The former Sri Lanka Army Commander Sarath Fonseka, who is serving a jail term at the Welikada Prison, was admitted to a private hospital yesterday.
He was undergoing treatment for a medical problem in his shoulders, sources said.
The Colombo High Court has ordered the prison officials to provide necessary medical treatments to Fonseka. Fonseka was brought to court today from the hospital and produced in the case regarding the Hicorp arms deal.
Meanwhile, the Colombo High Court Judge Deepali Wijesundara heard a case filed against the ex-Army Commander. The Judge postponed the hearing for November 14.
Fonseka and his private Secretary Senaka de Silva are accused of employing a group of deserted Army soldiers to rally against the government.
