The government has made all arrangements for former Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) child soldiers to sit the GCE Ordinary Level exam starting on 13 December.
Commissioner General of Examinations Anura Edirisinghe has told the state-run radio that special test centres have been established for the former combatants who were being rehabilitated to sit for the exam.
According to the Commissioner, 55 candidates at the Boosa Rehabilitation Centre have applied for the upcoming GCE O/L exam.
The Commissioner General has said that another two test centres have also been established in Jaffna and Vavuniya in addition to the centre at the Boosa camp.
A majority of the child soldiers did not receive any formal education during the three decade-long war between the rebels and government forces. (www.colombopage.com)
