Former Indian Chief Justice Kabir arrives in Sri Lanka

Former Chief Justice of India Hon. Altamas Kabir arrived in Sri Lanka on Thursday night (20). He was welcomed at the Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel by Attorney-at-Law Rajeev Amarasuriya on behalf of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka. He is in Sri Lanka to participate at the National Law Conference 2014 which commenced yesterday Heritance Kandalama on the theme “Law, Development and Good Governance: Enhancing the Efficacy of the Legal Profession for the Sustainable Human Development of Sri Lanka”. Justice Kabir had a very distinguished career in the Bar and the Judiciary, which culminated in his appointment as the 39th Chief Justice of India, which post he held until 18 July 2013.
