Four prisoners, weapons still at large after riots

Officials at Sri Lanka’s main Welikada Prison in Colombo say four of the inmates escaped during the deadly clash at the prison on Friday are still at large.

According to the officials, four of the escapees are convicted prisoners while the fifth is a suspect.

One of the prisoners H. Thushan Saradha alias Channa was arrested in Dehiowita yesterday.

Four of the weapons taken by the prisoners when they broke into the armoury have also not been recovered yet, the officials said.
