Fowzie attends inauguration of new Afghan president

Senior Minister for Urban Affairs, A.H. M. Fowzie, represented President Mahida Rajapaksa at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly-elected President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai in Kabul on 29 September 2014. Following the Inauguration ceremony, Minister Fowzie paid a courtesy call on President Ashraf Ghani and handed him a congratulatory message from President Rajapaksa, before engaging in a cordial discussion with the Afghan leader. Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Afghanistan, Shah Nawaz Marikar Bawa was also present at the meeting.
