The French Government has noted the will of President Maithripala Sirisena towards a Sri Lanka that is democratic, prosperous and respectful of Human Rights.
A Statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development of the Republic of France said that France commends the successful conduct of the presidential election in Sri Lanka as well as the high voter turnout across the country.
“We congratulate Mr. Maithripala Sirisena and salute the will of the President-elect to implement the announced policies towards a Sri Lanka that is democratic, prosperous and respectful of Human Rights,” the statement said.
France said it hopes that the next few months will bring forth a strengthened bilateral relationship between Sri Lanka and France. (Colombo Gazette)
