French national drowns in Trinco

A French national bathing close to Dove Island, Trincomalee was drowned but rescued to the shore  by two French women bathing in close proximity, Police said.

He was rushed to the Trincomalee Hospital but died on admission, they added.

The victim was 42 years in age, police said adding the body was now lying at the Trincomalee Hospital Mortuary.
