Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has had talks with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak in Malaysia, the Malaysian Prime Minister’s office said. The talks had taken place on the sidelines of the Defence Services Asia 2014 summit taking place at the World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur. Rajapaksa is among several foreign Defence Ministers and officials taking part in the summit, the Malaysian Prime Minister’s office added. The Sri Lankan Defence Secretary and his delegation had talks with the Malaysian Premier for some 30 minutes but details of the discussions were not immediately made available. Malaysia has been working closely with Sri Lanka to arrest LTTE operatives working on Malaysian soil and the country had even recently blocked the screening of a Channel 4 video on the war.
