‘Gota’s war’ book launch today

A book on ethnic conflict titled ‘Gota’s War: The Crushing of Tamil Tiger Terrorism in Sri Lanka’ is to be launched today under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Water’s Edge in Battaramulla. The President will be the Chief Guest at the event where Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa would be the Guest of Honour.

Author of the book C. A. Chandraprema has said that Gota’s War is a book on the entire conflict, which highlights events related to the conflict that had taken place since 1956. Chandraprema has observed that the book deals with the political as well as the military aspect of the conflict. According to the author, the book on the entire conflict has been named exclusively after the Defence Secretary since it was he who had finally ended the war.
