The Ministry of Health has banned the representatives of private medical companies entering into the government hospitals for promoting pharmaceuticals.

Earlier, the Ministry had permitted the sales representatives of the private medical companies to enter into government hospitals from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

However, the Ministry decided to revoke the decision since the activities of the sales representatives of private medical companies caused inconvenience to the patients as well as to the staff of the hospitals, a Ministry spokesman said.
