Govt. gazettes list of MPs elected to new parliament

The Government Press yesterday published an extraordinary gazette notification sent by Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya listing the names of the 196 new legislators elected to the new Parliament in the General Election held on 17 August.

Additional Elections Commissioner M.M. Mohamed said that all results had been tallied and compiled and the list of the MPs-elect had been sent to the Government printer to be officially gazetted last night.

The names of the national list of MPs are to be handed in by the relevant party secretary’s within a week of results being officially declared.
