Govt. Muslim Ministers and MP tour Mannar and Vavuniya

Three Muslims Ministers and a UPFA MP yesterday commenced a two day tour of the Mannar and Vavuniya regions, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce said in a media release.

Senior Minister A. H. M. Fowzie, Minister of Industry and Commerce Rishad Bathiudeen, Deputy Minister -Economic Development M. Hizbullah  along with Parliamentarian A.H.M. Azwer (MP) began the two day tour  from Andiyanpuliyankulam Muslim village in Vavuniya.

   Public Relations Minister Mervyn Silva has also joined the Muslim Ministers on the tour, the release said.

According to the Ministry, upon hearing concerns raised by the villagers and Muslim voters, the visiting Ministers assured them that alternative options will be explored regarding their key concerns, including their land issues.

 The Ministers thereafter travelled to the remote Thatchchanamaruthamadi village school attended by more than 200 Tamil Medium students with 13 teaching staff.

Minister Silva distributed support material to the students of the school, the release said.

  The Ministers also visited Uppukulam and Sannar in Mannar and met with members of the Muslim community for direct dialogues regarding their most critical concerns, the Ministry release said.
