Handing over ceremony of 109 houses at Menik Farm Village

Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa participated in the handing over ceremony of 109 houses at Menik Farm Village in the Vavuniya District on 7 September. This housing project funded by the European Union with grant funding of Rs.1.5 billion will complete a total of 2500 houses in the Vavuniya District by 2013. This project is being implemented by Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Deutschland (ASB). The Menik Farm housing project is being done with the collaboration and guidance of the Ministry of Economic Development, the Northern Spring Programme, the Presidential Task Force for Resettlement, Development and Security of Northern Province, and the District Secretariat of Vavuniya.
