Harsha campaigns against soaring cost of living

An agitation campaign against the soaring cost of living was organised at the Nugegoda ‘Janatha Pola’ by Dr. Harsha de Silva, MP and chief organiser for the UNP for Sri Jayawardenepura, Kotte.

Leader of the Opposition Ranil Wickremesinghe, MPs Dr. Jayalath Jayawardene and Eran Wickremeratne were present along with the Mayor of Colombo M. Muzzamil and a number of electorate organisers of the area.  Several members of the ‘Vipakshaye Virodaya’ also participated.  Dr. de Silva speaking to the media said that an unprecedented crowd had gathered at the location to protest against the unbearable price increases of essentials.  The UNP called on the Government to provide relief for the people at the budget to be presented next month
