Highlighting people’s needs

Two exhibitions highlighting good governance and service to the people by Government agencies are being held this week in Kalmunai and Addalachchenai in the East. They are jointly organised by the Pradesheeya Sabhas of the two areas and Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL).

The exhibition in Kalmunai will be held today, 20 October from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. at the Christa Illam Hall while the other is held on Saturday 22 October at Al-munaira Girls’ High School at Addalachchenai.

People’s Platforms will also be held where the people will get an opportunity of having a dialogue with public officials, religious leaders and civil society activists.

Several Government agencies and civil organizations are participating in the exhibitions. These include the Department of Immigration & Emigration, Foreign Employment Bureau, Pensions Department, Department of the Registration of Persons and Commission Investigating Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
