IGP Pujith Jayasundara yesterday assured that an investigation would be held into the death of a suspect while in Peliyagoda police custody.
Five officers of the Peliyagoda Police were arrested following the death of the suspect.
The Peliyagoda Police Special Crimes Division arrested the suspects on Sunday. The victim, who was arrested over an alleged vehicle robbery, was reported dead on Saturday.
A Sub-Inspector and four Constables were arrested during an investigation following an autopsy. The Peliyagoda Police Special Crimes Division is conducting investigations.
