Indian court further remands Sri Lankan ISI spy

Chennai: An Indian court has further remanded the Sri Lankan national suspected of spying for the Pakistani Intelligence Service (ISI). Poonamallee special court on Thursday further remanded the Sri Lankan national, Arun Selvarajan, along with other suspected ISI operatives, Sakir Hussain, Sivabalan, Mohammad Salim and Rafiq when they were produced before the court, Times of India reported. They were remanded in Puzhal prison in Chennai. National Investigation Agency (NIA) sleuths, who questioned Selvarajan for six days, now plan to interrogate him further for more details about his operations. India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Chennai on September 10 arrested the Sri Lankan Tamil man in Saligramam near Vadapalani for allegedly spying on Indian targets to Pakistan. He has been accused of taking photos and videos of vital security installations in Chennai and passing them on to his handler in the Pakistani High Commission in Colombo. Chennai Police said had been sending photographs of vital installations, including Army and navy bases, in south India to his handlers in Sri Lanka - Shaji and Siddiqui.
