Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas calls on the Prime Minister at Hotel Taj Palace

 

New Delhi: India’s Public Sector companies are willing to work in all streams of oil and gas sector in Sri Lanka, Indian Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan informed the visiting Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Minister Pradhan apprised the Sri Lankan Prime Minister about the existing cooperation in oil and gas sector between India and Sri Lanka when he called on Wickremesinghe in New Delhi on September 15, 2015.

The Sri Lankan Prime Minister was on his first official visit to India after assuming office last month for the fourth time.

Indian Minister noted that Indian Oil Corporation Ltd is already operating 183 Retail Outlets in Sri Lanka and has about 20% market share of petroleum products in Sri Lanka.

Minister Pradhan was accompanied by Secretary, P&NG, Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and senior officials from Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Ministry of External Affairs.
