Inspection of schools for dengue today and tomorrow

Minister of Health Dr. Rajitha Senaratne has informed the National Dengue Prevention Unit to submit a report after inspecting the situation of cleaned schools today and tomorrow.

Parents and school staff, following the instructions of the Ministry of Education, cleaned schools before they reopen for the new term on 26 April.

The premises of schools will be jointly inspected by health officers, the Police and security forces. If dengue breeding grounds are found, a grace period of one month will be given to clean the premises. The principal of the school will be prosecuted in the event they are unable to control the situation even after this grace period.
