Iran sympathises with Sri Lankan flood victims

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman expressed condolences to the Government of Sri Lanka over deaths in floods and landslides in the country.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi expressed his sympathy yesterday with the Sri Lankan people affected by floods and landslides on Saturday in the southern parts of the country.

Ghasemi expressed his sorrow over the unfortunate incident that left scores killed or missing and sympathised with the Sri Lankan people and Government, the Foreign Ministry said.

Landslides and floods in Sri Lanka have killed 177 people and the island nation faces the risk of more mudslides as torrential rains continue.
