Iranian boost for Batticaloa

Iran participated as the chief guests at the opening ceremony of the new housing scheme in the Kankeyanodai Village, Manmunaipattu DS Division in the Batticaloa District. This new housing scheme was built for the benefit of civilians who had been rendered homeless in the war.

The complex includes 70 housing units, mosque, community and health centre, children park and a developed internal road network.  The total cost of this project is Rs.171 million.

Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan, Chief Minister of Eastern Province; M.L.A.M. Hisbullah, Deputy Minister of Child Development and Women’s Affairs; Mahamoud Rahimi Gorgi the Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran also participated at this occasion.
