Jagath Alwis new Jaffna Commander

Major General Jagath Alwis has been appointed as the new Commander, Security Force Headquarters – Jaffna (SFHQ-J), effective from today (28), by the Commander of the Army. He is also to take over as the Colonel Commandant, Military Intelligence Corps beginning 10 December 2014. His predecessor, Major General Udaya Perera, has been appointed the Director General, General Staff at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff with effect from 1 December 2014. Major General H.C.P Goonetilleke, who had been serving as the Director General Staff at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff, has been appointed as the Chief of Staff, Joint Staff at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff, effective from 1 December 2014. Major General J.C Rambukpotha, who was serving as the Chief of Staff, Joint Staff at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff, is to take up an overseas appointment shortly. (Colombo Gazette)
