Jean-Paul Monchau, assumes duties as Ambassador of France to Sri Lanka

Jean-Paul Monchau, assumed office as the new Ambassador of France to Sri Lanka. He presented his credentials to President Mahinda Rajapaksa on 4 October, 2013. ″I am glad that the French authorities chose me as the Ambassador of France to Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is the fifth country where I serve as a Head of Diplomatic Mission but the first one in Asia,” said Ambassador Monchau. Monchau has been working for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1973 serving in Greece, Liberia, Switzerland and the United States of America. He has been Ambassador to Zambia, Malawi, Costa Rica and Benin. He holds a General Law Degree (DEJG) from the University of Lille and a Diploma in Public Administration from the Regional Institute of Admini-stration (IRA) of Lille.  Ambassador Monchau succeeds Christine Robichon, who is now the Ambassador of France in Cameroon.
