Judge Sisira Rathnayake assumes duties as JSC’s new secretary

Judge Sisira Rathnayake assumed duties as the new secretary of the Judicial Services Commission yesterday, after former Secretary Manjula Thilakarathne was transferred.

Thilakarathne was at the centre of controversy after he in an open letter asserted the waning independence of the Judiciary. He was later assaulted by unidentified goons - Pic by Kushan Pathiraja.
