JVP Leader leaves hospital, driver arrested for recklessness

JVP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake was discharged from the Colombo National Hospital yesterday but his driver was arrested on charges of reckless endangerment, Police said. The JVP Leader was transferred to the Colombo National Hospital after he sustained a minor injury when his vehicle collided with a truck in Kiriella in the Ratnapura District on Monday morning. Dissanayake was to attend several public meetings in the area on Monday. Police Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said the JVP Leader’s driver had been arrested yesterday and charged with reckless driving.
