UNP Gampaha District MP Karu Jayasuriya yesterday said he did not believe UNP MP Dayasiri Jayasekara will cross over to the Government.

Jayasuriya said rumours were being spread about Dayasiri crossing over which is not true.

“Don’t believe in these rumuors. Dayasiri is one who is very dedicated to the Party. I do not believe he will cross over. There can be certain issues that may cause dismay, but we have sorted these problems,” Jayasuriya told a media conference yesterday.

He also express serious concern over the rising crime wave in the country and blamed it on the removal of the 17th Amendment and the introduction of the 18th Amendment.

”State institutions have been politicised. The Government has promoted henchmen. UPFA politicians are responsible for the increase in the crime rate. Some of them are even having parties for raping hundred women. These are things we have never heard before,” lamented Jayasuriya.
