Kattankudy mass grave investigations to start from 1 July

The Kaluwanchikudy Magistrate has ordered the excavation of the mass grave in Kattankudy to begin from 1 July. Investigations have commenced following a complaint made to the Kattankudy Police by a person named Abdul Majeed Mohommed regarding the periodic disappearance, in 1990, of over a 100 Muslims living in Kattankudy, and the allegation that they had been killed and buried in the area near Kurukkalmadam beach by the LTTE. Police Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said that the relevant area had already been secured by the Police.
