Afghan President Hamid Karzai has congratulated President Mahinda Rajapaksa on his assumption of Commonwealth Chair in Office, the President’s Office said yesterday.
The Afghan President had offered his congratulations in a telephone call to President Rajapaksa last morning.
While offering his best wishes to both President Rajapaksa and the people of Sri Lanka, President Karzai praised Sri Lanka’s ability in improving many social indicators and achieving such rapid development, the President’s Office said.
