Lalith Weeratunga questioned by CID

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) yesterday recorded a statement from former President’s Secretary Lalith Weeratunga over the vehicles belonged to the President’s Secretariat. It has been revealed during investigations carried out so far that 18 vehicles belonging to the Presidential Secretariat were still unaccounted for. Former Transport Director of the Presidential Secretariat Keerthi Samarasinghe Dissanayake was arrested in mid February by the CID over missing vehicles at the Secretariat. A few weeks after the 2015 presidential election, 53 vehicles belonging to the Presidential Secretariat were found by the Police abandoned at a yard in Colombo.
