Lalith Weeratunga questioned over RADA

Former President’s Secretary Lalith Weeratunga was yesterday questioned by the Police Special Investigation Unit (SIU) over an alleged financial fraud amounting to Rs. 169 million at the Reconstruction and Development Agency (RADA).



Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara told media that Weeratunga was summoned to the SIU yesterday morning and that they recorded a statement from him over the fraud at RADA.



According to the complaint, the funds to the Agency had been sent through the Presidential Secretariat. 



Last week police SIU arrested the former Chief Operating Officer (COO) of RADA, Saliya Wickramasuriya, over alleged fraud in tsunami housing funds.
